Anglo American releases virtual site visit of Quellaveco Copper Mine

Anglo American has released a virtual site visit of its Quellaveco Copper Mine in Peru, created in partnership with Reality Check Systems.

Quellaveco’s construction began in 2018 with a significant investment of more than $5 billion. In the first ten years of operation, Quellaveco anticipates delivering an average of 300,000 tonnes of copper annually.

Recently, the company announced a significant milestone with the first copper production at the site.

The virtual visit is part of Anglo American’s commitment to transparency and accountability. It is an innovative way for the company to show how it operates and to allow investors and the community to see firsthand the impact of its operations on the environment and local communities and its commitment to investing in the future.

With the support of Reality Check Systems, a local production company successfully captured the 360 content in February 2022 after receiving access to our Training Portal, avoiding travel restrictions and following COVID safety procedures.

The tour was assembled by Reality Check’s experts, augmented with interactive maps and conventional media galleries, and it’s being delivered to the audience using our cloud infrastructure.
